Growing Up Too fast

Mozart was a child who didn’t know what it was like to be a child. His talent over took everything in his life and his father wanted to show his talent to the world. For three and a half years straight Mozart and his family traveled around Europe to perform to princes, queens, dukes, bishops and all the high society families.

They traveled from one country to another to perform in parties, socials and operas. Although Mozart and his family received many gifts and earned a good wage, the traveling was tiring and really didn’t make a child’s life go very smoothly. Even though his father was proud that both his children could play brilliantly, he knew they had to keep working in order to earn an income.

After the years slowly came and went, Mozart got incredibly sick one year and the family had to return home to Salzburg. Mozart and his sister didn’t really know what it was like to be home and see people on a regular basis, so returning home wasn’t as comforting as they all hoped for.

Plus, the town was now spreading rumors that Mozart wasn’t really talented, and he was just pushed to learn by his father. Salzburg turned into a place from hell, more than a home. The family stayed there for two years before deciding to travel again and that’s when it was more difficult for Mozart.

Mozart never knew what it was like to have a real home or to go to school.  Having friends or a regular routine was just not in the agenda for him. In the later years of his life, this played out to show. He became more focused on his relationship with women and didn’t really bother to make true friends.
