Cedric Smith Honored by Geminis

Cedric Smith set a high standard for Canadian actors to follow while portraying the patriarch of the King Family, Alec King, on Road to Avonlea.  And now the Gemini Awards - the biggest award show for Canadian television - is recognizing his talent by honoring him with a prestigious award during their upcoming broadcast.

Matthew & Rhett Win Week 3!

The most shy and gentle hero of all, Matthew Cuthbert, placed first in last week’s round of our Ultimate Classical Hero Contest!  He earned a total of 589 points, followed by the strikingly handsome, Rhett Butler.  His famous stand against Scarlett O’Hara has the same impact on viewers, more than 70 years later.  To see a full list of everyone’s scores, see below.

Last Week's Winning Heroes!

The first week of our Ultimate Classical Hero Contest is now complete and, not surprisingly to some, Gilbert Blythe is currently in first place, followed by everybody’s favourite “Pa”, Charles Ingalls!  It was a tight race - Aragorn was narrowly squeezed out of the competition (see results below) – and we now have a new set of men for you to choose from.

Upcoming Ultimate Heroes Contest!

Not too long ago we conducted a very successful “Ultimate Classical Heroine” contest in which we crowned our top female, Anne Shirley, and created a very inspirational video featuring all of our favourite women (which you can see here).  We’ve been receiving lots of inquires as to whether we are planning to conduct a Heroes contest and we are very excited to confirm that we are!

We’d like to announce a few changes to our Sullivan Sing-Along Contest!  Fans now have until Monday May 9th at 9 a.m. EST to submit their video tributes, in honour of Mother’s Day, to us.  Also, a panel of judges from Sullivan Entertainment will be the ones to pick the winning submissions, instead of having a voting system open to the public.

Enchanted Eight Become Fab Four

It is the final week of our Ultimate Classical Heroine Contest and here are your four top contenders for favourite leading lady: Anne Shirley, Marilla Cuthbert, Jo March and Elizabeth Bennet!  With a total of  2,056 votes being cast for our “Enchanted Eight” women, it was a very close race.

Romantic Poetry Contest Winners!

After much deliberation, we have reached a decision about the winning Romantic Poems from our February Facebook Poetry Contest.  There were so many beautifully-written pieces inspired by the picture above that we decided to crown one poem in the adult category, along with four runners-up, and one winner in the “Under 16” age bracket, with one runner-up.

Our “Road to 1,000” Facebook contest on Sullivan Entertainment’s official Road to Avonlea Fan Page has come to an end!  Congratulations to Ammie Sue Parsons for her winning entry.  We asked Road to Avonlea fans to add their friends to our page and discuss their favourite character from the series.  The winner was randomly selected.
