Though L.M. Montgomery was hailed with positive reviews upon the publication of Anne of Green Gables, it appears there was some speculation as to whether a young 11-year-old orphan like Anne would be so mature in terms of her taste in literature.

Road to Avonlea fans will be pleased to learn that their story girl, Sarah Polley, is expecting her first child.  At the age of 32, the actress, writer and director just confirmed that she is expecting with her husband, David Sandomierski.

It is no surprise that the woman responsible for inspiring an entire generation of young children to read again, was one of the most beloved figures in our End of Summer essay contest.  Here are two impressive essays about J.K. If you’re looking to take your kids to a movie, there’s been an abundance of family-friendly films that have premiered this summer.  A list of the summer’s most appropriate 10 were recently listed by Hillary Bowler of Desert News.  Here’s her list of options, followed by some suggestions from Sullivan Entertainment’s own movie library.

When casting for the King family children in Road to Avonlea, Kevin Sullivan had them act out scenes together.  One of Sarah Polley’s key tests involved a scene right out of L.M. Montgomery’s novels, The Story Girl, which inspired some of the moments and characters in Sullivan’s series.
