Kevin Sullivan Interprets Anne

Adapting a beloved book like Anne of Green Gables for the screen is no easy task and it was one that Kevin Sullivan did not take lightly. In the following excerpt from Kevin’s foreword in the Anne of Green Gables Centennial Edition novel, Kevin discusses how he was first introduced to Anne and the creative process he had to go through to bring the book to the screen.

Famous Farmers in Film

Though farmers are usually considered the most down to earth people, they have been the subject of some very famous films. I recently stumbled across an article that celebrated National Farmer’s Market Week (Aug. 7 – 13), by highlighting five films about farming, including The Straight Story, starring Richard Farnsworth (Matthew Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables).

Matthew & Rhett Win Week 3!

Bright River station is more than just a railway station.  As Anne waits on the platform for Matthew Cuthbert, she is experiencing the final moments of her life as an orphan and is about to begin a new life in which she belongs to people and a place .  The image of Anne, sitting on the station bench, is an iconic symbol of the Anne movies.  And it is worth taking a look at the history of the authentic location in which it was captured.
