The Restoration of Anne to HD

We recently brought you news of the release of the new digitally-restored version of Anne of Green Gables. Now, here is a video showing you exactly how the new HD footage compares to the original footage shot back in 1985.

In this video, the movie’s post-production supervisor, Dan Matthews, explains to viewers the technical changes that were made to the original footage in order to bring you this beautifully restored version.     You can, infact, digitally restore this. However, calling it "HD" is a falsehood marketing ploy. If the original was not recorded in a high definition format, it's impossible to magically transform it into HD. Sure, you can resize, digitally restore, etc., but it's never going to be HD.
