In the following excerpt from an exclusive interview Kevin Sullivan conducted with one of his fans, he explains his fascination for Mozart and how his curiosity about the musical genius led him to make the feature film Mozart's Magic Flute Diaries and the documentary Mozart Decoded.

Kevin says, “Both projects provided an opportunity for me to tell a story about what it’s like to look at the world from an artist’s perspective.  It is a homage in a kind of way to Mozart, because I happen to believe Mozart was one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time."

"He burned out very quickly when he died at age 35 – almost as if his genius was too great to be contained by human form.  He was also completely misunderstood by his father and the aristocracy of the time, in whose employ he worked.  Freemasonry gave him an alternate communication valve. The documentary deals with this little known aspect of his life.”

While Magic Flute Diaries delves into the mindset of Mozart’s opera, Mozart Decoded takes a more in-depth look at the life of the man who created it.
